Important Information from our Visa Department

Thailand Visa 101

Under Thai Law, you cannot study while using a tourist visa and you cannot work on an education visa 'ED.'

When you first enter Thailand with a student visa, you will receive only 90 days.  After 90 days, you will need to extend your visa at the immigration office.  Paperwork required can be filled out in building 19 on the 9th floor.

Your visa is valid for 1 year and is only valid if you stay in Thailand.  Once you leave the country, your visa becomes expired and you cannot re-enter Thailand unless you apply for a new student visa.

If you wish to re-enter Thailand with the same visa, you must apply for re-entry before you leave Thailand at the immigration office or the airport.

During your stay within Thailand, students are required to report to immigration every 90 days to confirm your address.

Some students may have a multiple entry student visa and after being in the country for 90 days, they can extend the visa at immigration or leave the country and come back in.
