Thailand’s government is a constitutional monarchy, which means there is a King and Royal Family as well as a government. Each citizen and guest of the Kingdom must respect this fact. The country has many laws that must be followed by locals and foreigners. No one should show any disrespect towards the King or the Royal Family or one could be charged under the ‘les majesty rule’ and be sent to jail for treason.
