On 27 October 2025, Siam University in Bangkok hosted a delegation led by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the U.S. Embassy, Bangkok, together with senior administrators from more than ten U.S. universities. The visit launched exploratory discussions on joint research, entrepreneurship partnerships, cooperative education, and expanded student and faculty mobility that could deepen Thailand–U.S. academic ties.

The event began with the delegation placing a floral wreath in honor of the Queen of Thailand.
The delegation, organized as part of IIE’s in-country program, visited Siam University on the opening day of a multi-city Thailand study tour scheduled for 27–31 October 2025. IIE’s regional office coordinates similar delegations to strengthen institutional partnerships and capacity building across higher education. The group included university leaders—associate vice presidents, deans, and directors of international affairs with the aim to identify pragmatic collaboration models.
The visit aligns with wider transnational education trends: universities are increasingly forming targeted partnerships that prioritize actionable outputs focused on student mobility, joint programs, and employability. For Siam University, strengthened U.S. ties to create internship pipelines to U.S. industry partners, and expand opportunities for Thai students to access global learning experiences.
